Jamie Jones set to open new London venue Ironworks with Voyager

Share

Jamie Jones takes the first night at London’s newest warehouse this autumn. On Saturday, 3rd October, he opens Ironworks, the 7,000-capacity space landing on the banks of the Thames in the Royal Docks, with a new show called Voyager. It is not a standard headline set.

Voyager is built as a trip through Jones’ world. The programme runs from day into night and pulls together special guest vocalists, B2Bs and artists tied to different chapters of his career. It traces the sounds and connections that shaped him, from the genre-defining house of the 2010s to the collaborations and new music pointing at what comes next. Expect a first look at where he goes from here, not a victory lap.

London is the right place for it. This is the city where Jamie first made his name, moving from the capital’s warehouse scene into a new generation of house DJs. From those early years to the global reach of Hot Creations and Paradise, his career has tracked the shape of house music for the best part of two decades.

Ironworks is a story in its own right. The venue comes from LWE, the team behind Printworks and Tobacco Dock, working with placemaking outfit PROJEKT. It occupies the old Thames Ironworks shipbuilding site, more than 150,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with an open-air terrace looking out over the river and the skyline. The team has left the industrial bones intact and designed the production around them. A visual installation from the Museum of Youth Culture will chart the history of London’s warehouse scene across the run, which fits given LWE’s own place in that story.

The opening season is deliberately short: six shows only, running from 3rd October to 1st November. Jones leads it. Eric Prydz follows with a rare venue-scale London appearance, a long way from his usual festival main stages. CamelPhat bring an extended four-hour set. Appetite take Halloween weekend with their biggest show to date, and Charlotte de Witte closes the programme in November.

Further guests and details are still to land. For now, Voyager is a rare chance to catch Jamie Jones on his own terms, looking back at the music and the people who got him here while showing his hand for what comes next.
