Is there a week that passes by wherein seminal French robotic duo Daft Punk don’t announce some sort of news these days? From remixes to action figures it appears that the pairing aren’t wasting a second of their comeback as they enjoy a spotlight brighter than ever before. Last year we added news their bulging news folder for 2013 that they’d be releasing a new deluxe box set edition of ‘Random Access Memories’  this December. Well true to form they’re set to deliver the new package just in time for the Christmas period. It’s just not quite the package we were expecting.

Instead of last years smash hit album getting the VIP treatment for a deluxe packaging it’s in fact acclaimed live albums Alive 1997’ and ‘Alive 2007’ that have been pressed to wax. Scheduled to arrive December 19 the boxset includes two 180g white LPs, a 52-page booklet and download cards for the album and video ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’.

Need a copy for you or a loved one this Christmas? Then you can pre-order on Amazon.fr now.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
