This year sees legendary Berlin nightspot Berghain turn ten and to celebrate reaching the milestone the ex-powerplant is marking the occasion in the most Berghain of ways. No, they’re not pumping the sounds of Marcel Dettmann and co. out the clubs extraordinary speakers in triumphant recognition of a decade in the German capital (although we suspect some musical commemoration will occur at some point) but the opening of a visual art exhibition in Halle am Berghain.

Entitled ‘10’ its not the first time the first time the space has been used by another art form than music with the exhibition preceded by last years collaboration with between Berghain affiliated artists and the Berlin State Ballet for ballet project Masse. Set to feature video art, paintings, installations, and photography by artists such as Norbert Bisky, Marc Brandenburg, Ali Kepenek and Sven Marquardt we can’t wait to check out the exhibition for ourselves when it opens on August 7.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
