In a rather fatalistic and sardonic proverb they say nothing is certain except for death and taxes. Now we’re not quite sure who ‘they’ are but might we suggest  to them a third certainty that could be annexed to their observation: the hysteria that will generated by the announcement of fresh material from experimental beat scientist Aphex Twin. It’d been almost 13 years since the release of previous album ‘Drukqs’  when his iconic logo flew high above the skylines of London and New York, teasing the impending return of one of electronic music’s most innovative and revered artists.

Now following on from the release of his album ‘Syro’  the ever generous Mr. Twin has made 21 modular synth recordings available on his SoundCloud, alongside a few unreleased tracks for good measure. Supposedly 12 years old and made largely on a Buchia synth you can nab the recording for yourself below.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
