He’s had ‘The Most Shazam’ed Track Ever’ on his list of achievements since 2013. That same ‘What I Might Do’ track also featured in a Tesco ad, and is possibly responsible for a substantial amount of the mainstream population falling into a deep-house infatuation. But Ben Pearce has no intention of resting on his laurels with Purp & Soul boss now unveiling his new Sextape Series. Yes, you did read that properly but it’s nowhere near as filthy as your sordid mind first thought. Far from being a series of Ben and partners getting jiggy with it, it is in fact a number of free mixtapes, “cheeky” edits and a sequence of “Sextape inspired” parties, which will see Ben play extended sets across a range of “characterful, intimate venues” in the UK.
Already confirmed venues include Bristol’s Cargo ship turned party-boat Thekla, Southampton’s Junk, Bournemouth‘s Get Satisfied and Glasgow’s Subclub, with more dates to be confirmed. Perhaps most surprisingly the run of dates sees Ben move away from his house and techno roots instead promising to focus on “disco, funk, soul and everything in between.”
Keep it locked at DT for all Ben’s Sextape mixes and free downloads throughout the series as they arrive. Futures!
