Flashback Debuts on Marylebone Records with I’ll Be There

Manchester-based DJ Flashback releases 90s-inspired tech-house roller, ‘I’ll Be There’, the artist’s first drop on Marylebone Records.
Mixing old-school stabs with a powerful vocal, I’ll Be There is guaranteed to keep the dancefloor moving all night. Flashback takes inspiration from both the Rave and Acid eras, which come through clearly in this top-class production. This retro roller is set to be a standout in any party set.
After picking up the house music bug at an early age, Flashback, otherwise known as Philip Connolly, started listening to iconic dance DJ, Stu Allan’s weekly radio show, on Manchester’s Key 103 radio station. The sounds on the show inspired him to search for vinyl at record stores all over the country.
Alongside Stu Allan, Flashback cites Groove Rider, Slipmat, Seb Zito and Goldie as having a huge influence on his sound – described as hardcore rave and jungle, fused with house and techno.
Flashback made I’ll Be There during the lockdown, and he explained his motivation behind the track: “Spending all that time away from people, I started to reflect on my formative years in the early 90s. Rave culture was massive and I was an avid collector of tape packs and vinyl.
“I have always loved hardcore and jungle music too, so wanted to create a track that has a similar vibe. It was great fun making this, I hope others get the same enjoyment from listening to it as I had making it.”
Flashback, I’ll Be There, lands on all major platforms on Friday 17th December.
