Calibre announces 5 night residency at Phonox in May
The highly respected drum and bass producer and selector Calibre has announced he is to return to the Phonox booth for five Fridays in May, curating his very own residency.
One of Drum & Bass’ true innovators, the Irish-born producer has given us some of the most amazing Drum & Bass tracks ever recorded. Having previously sold out two nights at the Brixton club, he’s going to be doing it all again, but this time he will be at the controls for five consecutive weeks. Selective about DJ bookings, this is only the second time he has agreed to a London residency, following his ten-week sold out XOYO residency last Summer.
In a career spanning two decades, he has released over fifteen albums of varying genres and is never one to stop creating: as a painter, multi-instrumentalist, writer, DJ and producer. The residency coincides with the release of ‘Shelflife 6’, an album made up entirely of unreleased tracks, some of which are twenty years old, and all of them only ever seeing the light in his infamous DJ sets. You’re guaranteed to witness some extraordinary crate-digging in this one-off residency from the mystifying legend.
The full lineup has been revealed and is as follows:
May 01 – Calibre (all night) with SP:MC
May 08 – Calibre & Breakage
May 15 – Calibre & Jossy Mitsu
May 22 – Calibre (140 set) & Schatrax & Sgt. Pokes
May 29 – Calibre & Doc Scott
