TNTKLZ lands on Druid Records with 2 tracker
Ever committed to breaking new Neurofunk talents, Essex’s Druid Records have recruited Russian newcomer TNTKLZ for their latest release. He brings the heavy-hitting two-tracker ‘Gunbai’ / ‘Possessed’ to the fold. This followes an impressive debut EP and follow-up single on Black Panther Recordings earlier this year. Leading to a slew of appearances on compilations for SAM Sound and Karma Lite, this release marks the youngster’s first release on Druid Records. It does not disappoint!
TNTKLZ cites Druid Records mainstays and Neuro heavyweights Agressor Bunx and Tobax as major influences on his sound. It’s of little wonder then that he’s landed himself a spot on the label’s roster. These audible inspirations ring true over the course of the project’s two offerings.
Nikolay Chukin aka TNTKLZ (pronounced Tentacles) is 18-years-old and from Yekaterinburg, Russia. TNTKLZ found his alias through his attachment to games like Half-Life. He’s racked up some serious hours in his gaming sessions both online and offline. He started producing Drum & Bass about two years ago. During which there were experimental developments and he tried different grooves. Recently, he has found inspiration in music produced by Enei and Nais and, of course, Noisia.
Our premiere ‘Gunbai’ opens with menacing impacts and a wide, resonant drone. Ascending in pitch to an epic climax. Then, it crashes headfirst into brutal drops characterised by gnarled Neurofunk basses. Popping snares, and urgent mechanical melodies make for a rollercoaster of a listening experience.
