Renegade Riddims: Nvrsoft

Kat Dudinsky, aka Nvrsoft, has been shaking up the Drum & Bass scene since day one. She started DJing in clubs at just 15, cutting her teeth behind the decks before making history in 2019 as the first US woman in Drum & Bass to play at London’s iconic fabric. That same night, she caught the attention of none other than Shimon, who wasted no time signing her to AudioPorn Records.

Since then, Nvrsoft has been on an unstoppable rise. Her track ‘Like It’ with Sofia has pulled in over 17 million streams, proving her sound resonates on a massive scale. But she’s not just about the numbers—her productions and DJ sets carry a raw energy and versatility that set her apart. Drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of music, she brings a unique depth to her sound, blending styles effortlessly while keeping things distinctly Drum & Bass.

With upcoming releases on some of the biggest labels in the game, including Benny V’s Dance Concept, and a stacked tour schedule taking her across the US, UK, and beyond, Nvrsoft is showing no signs of slowing down. Whether she’s shelling it down in a club or pushing boundaries in the studio, her high-energy approach and undeniable passion for the music make her one of the most exciting names to watch.

One thing’s for sure—when Nvrsoft is on the decks, standing still isn’t an option.

This is Nvrsoft’s second time on Renegade Riddims, the first time was way back in 2019 (you can check out that mix here). With a new release coming this Friday on Dance Concept (look out for our premiere on Friday!), we thought it was high time we caught up with her to see what’s been going on.

Tell us about your next release…

I think you know about it! I can’t wait to release my first tune with you for Dance Concept. All the VA tunes are in the mix, as well as tons of others from the Dance Concept vaults – everyone’s work is so solid. So many really classic sounds that I really love and hunt for in tunes. It’s a big honor for me to be releasing with you and the Dance Concept team. You always push great music, and have been such a great mentor and friend to me, Benny. Thank you so much for letting me join the label, and for all you do to support our community.

What have you got coming up?

I can’t really chat about my next shows and some key projects (tunes and a book feature,) as a lot of things are Hush Hush (™) and being worked out – but I do have quite a few upcoming releases that I can talk about!

I’ve got a collab single on the upcoming Dance Concept VA, an EP for Murmuration for my friend Oscar (who is such a saint,) some tunes with Counter Culture and Breezy Lee working for Goldfat that are absolutely KILLER, a collab single with my friend JMOD that will be on a VA for DNB Girls of America’s label launch that I’m thrilled for (Jess is one of my dearest friends and it will be her production debut as well as DNBGA’s launch, which our collective has worked SO hard on,) a single in the vault for YANA Music, and I’m working really hard on new work for AudioPorn.

I’ll admit I’m feeling a lot of pressure with all the recent success from “Like It” and my first live orchestral performance, which have all been so awesome to see, but raising the bar in major ways will always pose challenges. I feel a huge need to keep my momentum going and keep growing – as an artist and in myself – and that can be a bit intimidating at times.

So, I’m doing my best to stay focused, keep my self-doubt in check, be patient with myself, and walk before I run. Life has been really challenging on a personal level for me for quite a bit, and I was a bit worried I would be stuck in that darkness – but things are finally turning around now. I’m feeling happier and more at peace with myself than I have in what feels like ages, and I finally feel like I can get back in the zone with my music.

I don’t like to work when I’m in a dark place – I don’t want to make my music or put energy into it or out into the world that way. So being in this place now is such a huge relief and joy. I’ve had so much support along the way, and I’m beyond humbled and grateful to everyone in my life who has helped me get back to myself. People’s compassion, patience, and love inspires me so much, and it inspires and drives me in such a huge way.

I’m excited for the future and grateful for the opportunity I have to keep chasing my dreams – but knowing I’ll have so many incredible people in my life & by my side for it all is what really makes it for me.

When was the last time you actually raved?

Hands down, Apashe @ Echostage in Washington DC Feb 22. Best night out I’ve had in ages. I met a bunch of my friends from the area and we were hilariously unhinged together, had so much fun. I haven’t laughed so much in so long. I also met so many new friends, and got to link with some of my friends from France who are in town for their tour. I felt like I really needed the night with all of them, the incredible music – and I also fell in love, so that was a pretty major bonus, too.

A rave, to me, is more about the journey there and the connections you make with others, to yourself, to art, and to your environment; it’s challenging yourself, being present, being joyful, and allowing yourself catharsis. I got all of that. I’ve been raving for over 15 years now, and finding a real rave may seem rarer now, but they aren’t dead. Knowing, finding, and keeping the rave alive has never, and will never, get old to me. It is always worth taking a chance and making the effort to create, and I hope we’ll never stop doing that together.
