In 2014 Grand Theft Audio Recordings was dreamed up by DnB producers James Galloway and Robbie Backett in a studio in South Manchester. 7 years and 168 tracks later, they celebrate their milestone 50th release. Grand Theft Audio 50 is a 50 track album, well more accurately, 2 x 25 track albums rolled into one. Twenty-five brand new tracks from a broad range of styles, vibes, producers and countries. Plus twenty-five of the best tracks from Grand Theft Audio’s rich history. The release date for ‘Falling’ will be 12th November, 2 weeks before the entire album drops as part of the 4th LP Sampler compilation.
Nvrsoft is best known for her hugely successful EPs on Shimon’s Audioporn imprint where she amassed a string of number one hits, as well as for being played on Radio 1, NPR, UKF, DNBA, Bassrush and being the first American woman to perform Fabric in London. She’s teamed up with intercontinental Drum & Bass Trio, Sola, who have been putting out tracks on Program, Korsakov and Formation as well as Dub Damage, Nuusic and Grand Theft Audio. The result, ‘Falling’, is a haunting mix of liquid and techy roller with growling reeces, blistering drum work, clever use of FX, and focused basslines. Lots of switch ups including a bridge section with a cool falling bass to match the tune’s name.
