Red Sky drop ‘Pinback’ EP on Lockdown Recordings

Birmingham-based Red Sky make their return to Lockdown Recordings with a brand-new EP entitled ‘Pinback’ featuring 4 new tracks of deep jungle music, packed full of evolving modular sound design, halftime rhythms and futuristic sci-fi vibes.

Opening the EP ‘Acheron’ takes its name from the Alien film…rolling in with stretched jungle drums and eery strings before dropping bouncing 808s and tearing filtered Reese stabs, definitely, one of the more dancefloor-focused tracks from the EP.

‘Amity’ really takes the listener on a journey. Hypnotic synth patterns, ticking percussion and pulsating bass form the basis for this ever-evolving interstellar soundtrack.

Up next ‘Deadwood’ is a minimal halftime roller; the pounding low end really carries the tune with the percussion layers and modular synth stabs combining intricately for a futuristic tribal vibe.

Finally, the title track ‘Pinback’ rounds things out, again a deep jungle roller. The eery sci-fi strings and clever sound design set the vibe before the mechanical drum patterns build and interlock perfectly with the rolling bassline.

Red Sky demonstrate that they have really honed their sound with this EP, deep boundary pushing music that smashes it on the headphones as much as it does in the club.

Today we premiere ‘Acheron’ which you can check out below. The ‘Pinback’ EP dropped exclusively on Beatport on 5th September and the general release falls on 19th September. Make sure you grab a copy from here!
