K2T, Option and Rounder; a trio of arguably different tastes, yet together, they are capable of some of the most soulful beats we’ve come across in recent times!
K2T, Option and Rounder three talented producers have supplied 2 beautifully contrasting pieces of Liquid Drum & Bass for Bay 6 Recordings. A cool, calming jazzy number in the way of ‘Every Night’. On the flipside is ‘Heat Stroke’, a haunting, atmospheric rolling masterpiece.
The first track of the single is ‘Every Night’. A combination of soulful chords, rolling beats and ethereal vocal samples. The track opens up with the sound of punchy drums that keep your head nodding whilst the ambience and melodic elements can be heard building gracefully in the background. The track drops with luscious chords and a rather weighty, but warm, subline.
Next up, ‘Heat Stroke’ takes a much more chilled position as track number 2 and is a perfect example of less is more. Kicking off with brilliant ambience and foley, the track slowly develops into a rolling beat, with piano riffs easing in and out in a restrained fashion. The drop in ‘Heat Stroke’ is left entirely up to the rolling percussion and low, growling bass to carry the track, which it does with ease. The gorgeous atmosphere continues throughout the entire track, almost telling its own story.
