Jaise debuts on Dispatch Ltd with ‘Locaste’ EP

Share

Jaise‘s debut project for Dispatch, titled the ‘Locaste’ EP, holds significance as the 100th release on the highly acclaimed Dispatch Limited label.

In this EP, Jaise aimed to deviate from a clinical and sterile sound, infusing his music with a more human touch and emotional depth. His intention was to craft tracks that deeply resonate with listeners, taking them on a captivating journey where each song tells its own unique story and evokes a distinct atmosphere.

The initial three tracks of the EP, namely ‘Stripes’, ‘Slow Mover’, and ‘Herein Lies A Liar’, served as experimental pieces for Jaise. By incorporating diverse chords and textured layers, he sought to enrich the driving drum patterns and accompanying basslines, resulting in a multidimensional sonic experience.

One track of paramount importance in shaping the EP and securing its release on Dispatch was the title track, ‘Locaste’. Inspired by notable compositions such as Adam F‘s ‘Metropolis’, ‘Locaste’ possesses a captivating flow, gritty demeanour, and an intense atmosphere that vividly reflects the harshness of city street life.

To complete the EP, Jaise created two final tracks ‘Sleeper Cells’ and ‘Thick As Thieves’ on which he collaborated with the prolific NC-17. These compositions showcase Jaise’s continued exploration and fusion of classic breaks, recorded human elements, and instrumental layers. The resulting sound remains true to the essence of Drum & Bass while exuding a profound human element and an undeniable intensity.

Today we premiere the collab Jaise did with NC-17, ‘Thick As Thieves’ which you can check out below. The ‘Locaste’ EP drops on Dispatch Store on 23rd June and will be available everywhere else from 30th June. Grab a copy from here!
