Insignio drops ‘Sideways’ EP on Conveyor Audio

Portuguese Drum & Bass DJ and producer Insignio joins the ranks at Conveyor Audio, with his ‘Sideways’ EP which is one of the most diverse EPs we’ve heard in a long time.

With more than a decade of producing Drum & Bass under his Crawler alias, Afonso Silva brings many different influences to this project, embracing innovative genres within bass music.

In this body of work, we can hear jazz and traditional sampling techniques, fused with forward-thinking breaks in ‘Perimeter of Ignorance’, a collaboration with Rodolfo Embaló.

Hypnotic acid lines and trench techno synths make ‘Ácido’, another collaboration with Noh Vae, a footwork club track with all the trademarks that make it a certified dance-floor banger.

On ‘Sideways’, Insignio takes us deep in his sampling prowess, delivering a beautiful evocative jazz landscape together with pounding 808 kicks.

And finally, on ‘The Element’ another collaboration with fellow bass music producer Lowfatik, this EP takes another turn to Footwork/Autonomic vibes with spaced-out vocals, layered with smart drum programming and amazing sampling work throughout the track.

We’re very excited about what this release brings to the Conveyor Audio catalogue, opening diverse possibilities for what their aesthetics could be. Insignio delivers an outstanding EP and there’s a lot more to hear from him in the future.

Today we premiere ‘Perimeter of Ignorance’ feat. Rodolfo Embaló which you can check out below. Insignio drops his ‘Sideways’ EP via Conveyor Audio on Thursday 31st March, make sure you grab a copy for your collection from here!
