LIGHTLEAK brings Funky Fire with ‘Shelter (Funky Heroes)’ on Hottrax

Share

When a track hits with this much bounce, you feel it in your chest.

And that’s exactly what California’s LIGHTLEAK delivers on his label debut, the ‘Shelter’ EP for none other than Jamie Jones’ Hottrax.

Landing July 18th, the LIGHTLEAK Shelter EP on Hottrax is all slick groove, tight drums, and low-end pressure built for basements and sunrise sets alike. It kicks off with ‘Shelter (Funky Heroes)’, a peak-time weapon full of house swagger, soulful vocals, and that undeniable Hottrax punch.

LIGHTLEAK might be a fresh name to some, but he’s no rookie. After grabbing early support from Prunk, Sidney Charles, and Rossi., he packed up, hit Europe, and smashed out 100 gigs in year one. From packed clubs in Amsterdam to gritty warehouse sessions, he’s been laying serious groundwork.

Now back stateside, the LA native levels up with this tidy three-tracker. ‘Memphis’ keeps it rolling with chuggy drums and head-nodding loops, while ‘Hamburg’ wraps things up with throbbing kicks and late-night sheen.

Already getting spins from Carlita and crew, the LIGHTLEAK Shelter EP on Hottrax is proper ammo for DJs who know.

Grab it on Beatport, stream it everywhere, and turn it up.
