Joëlla Jackson brings ‘Bandolera’ to Moan

Share

Joëlla Jackson lands on MOAN Recordings with her debut ‘Performance EP’, out now and carrying two tight cuts built with the booth firmly in mind.

The Amsterdam-based DJ has been moving properly over the last few years. From early sets in the city centre to a Shelter residency, then on to Strafwerk, Elrow, Creamfields, Music On and Awakenings, she has built her name the right way, in rooms where the records have to work.

Her sound comes from that same place. House music with weight, swing and a clear sense of purpose. Raised on a broad mix of music and pulled into house early through DJ Chuckie’s Dirty House mixtapes, Joëlla now brings that club-first instinct into her own productions.

The ‘Performance EP’ gives us two sides of that identity, with ‘Performance’ setting the tone and Joëlla Jackson’s track ‘Bandolera’ bringing the heat. It rolls with low-end pressure, sharp drums and that late-night bounce made for basements, terraces and the moments when the floor starts leaning in.

We’re pleased to premiere ‘Bandolera’ on Data Transmission today.
