Sankeys Final 10 Parties

After hearing the sad news of Sankeys in Manchester closing, we bring you news to soften the blow. Here is a countdown of the last 10 parties at the world renowned club, all leading to its end on 6th May, which sold out in 4 hours yesterday. So make sure you are quick to get tickets for one of the last 10 at this very special club.

David Vincent, Sankeys’ founder and visionary, says that, “I have been totally overwhelmed with the response with the thousands of emails, Facebook, text and phone messages which have come in from all over the world. There is a lot of emotional tears in the Sankeys office right now. Thank you very much for all the love showed, we all really appreciate it. I really cannot believe how quickly the closing party sold out – all tickets sold within 4 hours, which I feel shows what the club means to people, to be a part of this spectacular 12-hour event. We also now have a run of 10 brilliant parties leading to the closing event which are all going to have extra resonance; these are the last chances to experience the club before I close it indefinitely for the summer. Expanding on my statement from yesterday, for me what I have learnt is that it is impossible to run two clubs at the same time the way I want to – which is me being present to ensure everything runs perfectly. I can only be in one place. And also it’s vital I have my team around me too, which is why I have made this decision, to bring everyone with me to Ibiza for our third season there. So the last few weeks in Manchester at the club are going to be something really special – I hope people are able to come to at least one of the final events we have got coming up.”

28th April    SecretSundaze will be bringing us Giles Smith One of the things that sets Giles apart is his sense of house history. The young Smith was simply obsessed with tracking down what he heard on the radio, clubs and mix tapes absorbing influences and inspiration without prejudice. A brotherly shove soon got him on the decks, though, and now, in 2013, all that early research is still paying off in dividends. Also on the night will be James Priestley, Moid and John Hanley. Most of them don’t have the balls to call out the scene that they belong to when it’s failing to deliver the goods. And some don’t even produce ‘their’ own tracks.
