Outstrip – My Time

Vakula might well be the best-known producer from Ukraine, but for more than seven years now Outstrip has also been doing some mighty fine work. Here he serves up a brand new track that is percussive, playful and physical. As introductions go, this one is right up there with the best.

My Time is the one original and it is a loopy, bumpy bit of house with sexual vocal coos and firmly rooted drums all bobbling about in loose-limbed fashion. A melodic breakdown comes midway though and when the thing drops again you just know floors will go wild. The Gwen Maze remix only subtly reworks things, upping the ante a little and layering in more sci fi melodies, ensuring both tracks will be of plenty of use to top DJs everywhere. Sure to be a hit with in-the-know house favouring tastemakers, it features a rough shell but a smooth interior that’ll ensure it goes down a treat wherever it’s allowed to fully flex its guns. All round sumptous fare from a label – and a man – that you’d do well to take note of.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
