Friday 19th July running from 22:00 – 06:00 at Crucifix Lane (7-9 Crucifix Lane; Southwark; London SE1 3JW; United Kingdom) Illusion Sound will present Kr!z & Material Object. With tickets on second release already and costing £12 make sure you get your now, other artists on the night will include; Morgan Tomas and Hefty.

Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno. Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the nineties. They helped to define his musical taste and develop his own identity in the techno scene. Kr!z still has a big love for hip hop, which has left it’s mark in his technical DJ style: fast & tight mixing, properly dosed with cuts & scratches. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-DJ for Belgium’s legendary techno night ‘Kozzmozz’, his DJ-schedule now takes him all over the world. In 2007, Kr!z felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn’t get a proper release, so he started his own label ‘Token’. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful techno sound. In the 5 years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy, Phase, Luke Slater, James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Xhin, Sigha & Peter Van Hoesen, amongst others. Also the Token label night concept took off with great success after memorable nights in Berlin (Berghain & Tresor), Brussels (Fuse), Shanghai, London, Rotterdam, and more. Also on the night you will see Morgan Tomas, who is a DJ/Producer from France. He’s also running the label Reloading Records and the weekly podcast with the same name. In the past years, he has several releases coming out on labels such as Sleaze, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Prosthetic Pressings or even Silent Steps and has been supported by great artists who often play his tracks. Morgan’s music is a deep rooted Techno, dark and energetic, be sure not to miss it. London based Hefty has created his own unique style of dark, abstract, bass fuelled hypnotic minimal and dark driving twisted techno, which is receiving huge interest in the global minimal and techno scenes. With requests for remixes, collaborations and EP’s flooding in and many tracks already released, Hefty is determined to unleash his dark sounds on the public and continue to explore the realms of minimal and techno. Now with over 100,000 plays on soundcloud alone and signed to many UK and international labels and with European gigs under his belt… he is about to go global! Get your tickets as they will be sold out, this is a night not to be missed!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
