The Hydra 2014 launch weekend and new permanent location

The Hydra is have just announced their 2014 event series and new exclusive residency at Studio Spaces in London and will take over the  Bank Holiday in a triple bill running from 22nd-24th August. The three day launch party kicks off the third series of The Hydra on Friday 22nd August with a 8-hour installment featuring Carl Craig along with appearances from world music don Gilles Peterson and idiosyncratic dance producer Zomby, to name a few.

thehydra2.jpg The following evening on Saturday 23rd brings a headline set from Ghostly International co-founder and Detroit techno whiz-kid Matthew Dear, Com Truise AKA Seth Haley, as well as Birmingham based house master Mark E, and Fort Romeau. Rounding up the weekend, Sunday 24th marks the return of London’s techno label and clubnight Blueprint with a headline set from minimal techno pioneer Robert Hood joining him is leader of Berlin’s Dystopian collective Rødhåd and also James Ruskin, Blawan, DVS1, Shackleton. Whilst the main space has already played host to music events, The Hydra, alongside Studio Spaces are currently building a second room from a raw warehouse space next door, giving an increased capacity of around 1300 over both rooms providing the capital with a much-needed new venue ready for August.£5 Early Bird Tickets are now available from their new website: www.the-hydra.net
