Each year, during the beginning of March, groups of musicians and visitors from all over Europe and the United States arrive in Amsterdam to participate in an electronic music festival. Inspired by Belgium’s 10 Days Off festival, 5 Days Off is the first multi-day indoor dance event in the Netherlands. It has grown out of a fairly small festival in the Amsterdam Melkweg into a true city-wide festival, which now also involves Paradiso and De Balie.

For Techno fans, Electric Deluxe are taking over a day two of the much-loved Amsterdam music festival at Melkweg, Amsterdam on March 6th, with some some first class entertainment from the likes of Berghain resident Marcel Fengler, Abdulla Rashim, and Jean Pierre Enfant, resident DJ at TrouwAmsterdam and founder of the infamous Les Enfants Terribles parties.

ELDX mastermind Speedy J will take a turn behind the decks, this time together with Collabs partner and long-time label affiliate Chris Liebing. Their set will be supported by specially commissioned visuals created by artist Florence To. Synched to different frequencies in Speedy J’s set, Florence To’s audio-visual installation promises to be a deep immersive and spatial-altering experience.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
