Butch – FTS EP

A rising star among the technorati, Burlent Gurler aka Butch has had influential releases to date on industry-vanguard imprints including Drum, Cocoon, ReKids and Visionquest.

His debut EP with Desolat FTS sees opening track Pompino kicking things off with a distinctly jacking house flavour – choppy rhythmns and asymettric grooves building toward a foreign-speaking climax. The 90’s flavour that pervades this release perversely gives it a very current edge and the pipe  wielding buildup of Pompino looks set to be getting festival goers suitably hyped in the sunshine this summer.

Underneath all that however it’s Desolat business as usual, as a stonking kick and powerful drops display a less playful side interspersed with sporadic vocal snippets to give the tracks an important human element during Desert Storm and Sonny Got It Going On.  The EP then rounds of with a muscular finish as the atomosphere is taken several shades darker by Dimensions for a more Berlin laced sound.

Summer 2013 looks bright indeed for the tenacious techno producer, with upcoming set at Sankeys Ibiza in July and the off-the-wall techno mecca that is Frankfurt’s Nature One Festival in August.
