“I remember being wet behind the ears when throwing an illegal warehouse rave. It was one of the first Below Warehouse parties at Big Danny‘s place in Jewellery Quarter. None the wiser, the best solution we had for selling tickets to the customers was… eBay ‘buy it now’!”Those are the words of one half of the team behind BELOW. The party has come a long way since then, initially having gone against the grain and thrown Sunday daytime parties. Since then, the night has inspired and influenced the city no end, with great parties in non-commercial spaces, and now they celebrate with one of their most ambitious events yet across three different venues utilizing some of The Rainbow’s most unique spaces. The first part of the birthday takes place on May 4th at The Rainbow Warehouse, Arena and in the Rainbow Courtyard. The party has been put together by co founders Adam Shelton and Lee McDonald as an overview of their influences to date and will see a very special live PA from Inner City, plus sets from house gangster DJ Sneak, techno innovator Derrick May, New York house star Todd Terry, plus Kevin Saunderson, Mr C and of course Adam Shelton.
