Archie Hamilton’s 5 Big Tracks from Kappa FuturFestival

Share

Europe’s premier electronic music festival, Kappa Futur Festival returned to the famous Parco Dora, Torino, Italy over last weekend, 6-7th July.

The line-up included a massive b2b2b between Archie Hamilton, Enzo Siragusa and Rossko. The line-up also included Carl CoxRichie HawtinNina KravizSolomunSeth Troxler and Derrick May. We spoke to Archie Hamilton about the b2b2b and asked him to give us his top 5 tracks.

Archie says “I’ve always seen pictures and videos of Kappa Futur over the last few years and the sheer scale of the event has always been visually so impressive. Even that doesn’t prepare you for what it actually like when you’re there. Myself, Enzo Siragusa and Rossko got to play 3 hours on the Burn stage and it was absolutely amazing. Here are 5 tracks that really stood out for me”

Archie Hamilton – Waisted

This has been one of the tracks of the year for me, a staple of all of my sets! It’s the first real party tune that I’ve made, and it works every time.

Timmy P – Fat Dingers

Timmy is an old friend of mine from my university days, and its great to see him making such timeless music. ‘Fat Dingers’ feels like a classic house tune from the 90s and it’s amazing to see him release it on such a heritage label like Strictly Rhythm.

SIS – Nesrib (Archie Hamilton’s Nose Rub)

I made this edit just for myself, and friends, but it seems to have been getting really nice reactions. I sent it to Nick Curly, the owner of Cécille Records (the label it was originally released on) and he loved it and wanted to do an official release. So I’m happy to say that it will see the light of day towards the end of the year.

Listen to the original below, the remix is coming soon.

Rossi – Paradise

I played this for the first time at Circoloco, on the terrace and it went off! I’ve been playing it everywhere ever since. It’s a real feel-good party tune with a great vocal.

DJ Sneak – Rising

I’ve been using this as a tool to layer under other tracks and I’ve absolutely loved the vocal, it adds a really nice movement. And the track itself is just so groovy, like all of Sneak’s stuff.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
