6 things that caught out eye at World Club Dome

World Club Dome likes to do things on a large scale. It finds 40, 000 people a day raving to more than 200 DJs and live acts across a weekend, and in 2016 once again it pulls out all the stops. With new additions, improvements and a continue devotion to its original ideas, it really is a one of a kind festival you need to check out. Here are six reasons why.

The Plane

What other festivals offer you the chance to arrive by Boeing 747? None, quite simply. World Club Dome, though, specially charters a flight from Paris to London to Hamburg to Frankfurt and picks up a lucky selection of ravers who get to party hard in the sky, with a DJ set served up by a superstar. This year it was Robin Schulz and made for a flight to never forget.

The Opening Show

World Club Dome knows how to open and close in style, and so this year it had French house hero David Guetta bookending the event with two spectacular sets full of hits old and new. Amazing lights, explosive visuals, pyrotechnics and confetti added to the intensity of the whole amazing affair.

The Pool Sessions

For the first time this year, a special pool was added to proceedings. It found people cooling off and larking about in the water, whilst a killer sound system served up the beats. Those beats came from a fine selection of underground heads including Cocoon boss Sven Vath and Diynamic label chief Solomon. It made for a nice cosier vibe away from the main arena when needed. Guy Gerber, Illario Allicante, HOSH, Adriatique also fronted the stellar bills for both days.

The Food

In order to fuel yourself through the rave marathon, you are treated to a wealth of amazing food emporiums. Each one offered something special and there was everything from healthy eating salad bars to burger joints all championing homemade stuff with a great spread of choice.

The Programming

The events had a bit of everything this year, with even more on offer than ever before. Form big name, heading making hairstyle acts who are used to playing to thousands to more underground and heady house and techno DJs who can work more personal crowds. From EDM to grime, Steve Aoki to Dada Life, Armin Van Buuren to Adriatique, everything was covered on a great selection of stages with the likes of the newly added Q Dance stage a real big hit. Martin Garrix also performed an historic show piece.

The Venue

Football stadium is a perfect ready made rave venue when you think about it – it is large enough to host thousands of people, shaped perfectly to allow volume levels to be cranked at the same time as confining the music so it doesn’t drift off into the ether. Truly innovative, The Commerzbank is a great stadium fitting for the acts performing, is easy to get around and has a real wow factor.
