Spotlight Mix: James Burton

James Burton is a DJ/ producer based in Darlington UK, over the last two years James has been crafting his sound from scratch and has gone from strength to strength in that very short time.

He takes influences from some of the scenes heavy-hitters but his multi genre sets blend seamlessly with House, Tech house, techno, progressive house and even disco and funk being thrown in to the mix. While Burton comes from a close knit circle of internationally renowned artists such as Richy Ahmed, Patrick Topping, Skream and Jackmaster, James has created a sound that is his own, taking inspiration from the frequencies heard in the clubs of Ibiza and festivals around the world.

Burton’s expansion of his own brand, Music Matters, is unprecedented and rarely seen after such a short time, his hard work ethic and pure passion has translated into support for his music from the worlds biggest Dj’s with the likes of Skream, Solardo, Richy Ahmed, Patrick Topping, Annie Mac, Elliot Adamson, Mark Jenkyns, Inxec, Russ Yallop, Jamie Roy, Ki Creighton, Kinnerman, Ben Jones, Nikolai and Versus all can be herd pumping out Burty’s tunes, his talent for production see’s him having 2 EP’s upcoming on Skream’s OF Unsound Mind label, the first of which being exclusively radio premiered by Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 show. James also has a release with the massive international brand DoNotSleep, No doubt this is just the start with further big signings to come and after a successful season in ibiza playing clubs such as Eden, Sankeys, Ibiza Rocks and DC-10 all under his belt James Burton could be one of the scenes future stars.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
