L’Etranger joins the Spotlight Mix Series

French house imposter L’Etranger presents his latest four-track EP ‘For The Floor’: an impeccable homage to disco-tinged, filtered house music in all its uplifting technicolour glory.

L’Etranger – translated to “The Outsider” – relates to Ben Thomas’ musical approaches as an Englishman producing French-inspired house music. His latest EP ‘For The Floor’ is a captivating four-track EP that blends filtered French house with disco samples, resulting in an energetic and unpredictable musical journey.

With a nod to the golden era of disco, L’Etranger skilfully crafts each track with infectious rhythms, captivating melodies, and soulful nuances, with joy and celebration permeating every aspect of its production.

From the relentless energy of opener Hi and unrestrained Joy of Sagittarius to the punishing electro swagger of Falx and celebratory, old-school stylings of Let Go, it’s an EP that evokes a powerful sense of nostalgia without ever becoming lost in the past.

Lead single Let Go is currently sitting at 400k streams on Spotify and was picked up by Anna Lunoe for her HyperHouse show on Apple Music. Sagittarius follows on 04 August, with the full EP landing on 25 August.

L’Étranger caught the attention of DJs, Blogs and critics alike in 2011 when his free track ‘Touch’ reached the Top 10 on the popular chart of the Hype Machine. With a string of successful bootlegs (such as Alan Braxe and Fred Falke) and official remixes for artists such as Polydor’s Guillemots, Mercury Prize nominee Sam Lee, and 4AD’s Stornoway to name but a few, L’Étranger has gained acclaim and notoriety on music blogs and magazines as a prevalent force on the nu-disco scene.

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
