Renegade Riddims Local: Milkman

We are picking up our Renegade Riddims Support Local series this week so I would like to introduce you to Charles da Nobrega aka Milkman! He is the second artist from On The Decks roster to join the series, we had their head honcho Hardisty join last year and will continue to feature the artists from OTD once a month for the rest of this year before we move on to another local brand.

Since he burst into the local scene in 2019 after only 6 months of DJing, Milkman has not dropped the ball. He was quickly picked up by On The Decks after his first live gig. He now helps run the brand as well as being a well-established DJ in his own right.

Starting off in his bedroom, Milkman has honed his craft in his two favourite genres, Garage and Drum & Bass. When playing his Drum & Bass sets Milkman weaves a vibe like no other and plunges the crowd into a high-energy frenzy with his technical yet smooth mixing style. Lightning-fast mixes, perfect doubles and high-energy blends make Milkman’s Drum & Bass sets unmissable and unforgettable.

Over lockdown, Milkman worked intensely on the brand OTD and is a key reason the brand is where it is today. However, once the lockdown was lifted Milkman used this platform he created for himself to launch his personal career to the next level. In the following months, Milkman went on to support acts such as Logan D, Pola & Bryson, Nicky Blackmarket, Turno, A.M.C and Andy C to name just a few. He also played his first festival set in 2021 playing on the takeover stage at Illusive Festival.

Also known for his friendly and happy demeanour Milkman is enthusiastic and a pleasure to watch.

What have you got coming up? 

You can catch me in Buckingham pretty much every Saturday night! As well as that I’m playing at Club 43 (Northampton) and Unit Nine (Milton Keynes) on the 6th of August with more to be announced soon!

When was the last time you actually raved?

Two weeks ago, even when I’m playing I’ll be down in the crowd enjoying all the other sets!
