Ramyen is in charge of this week’s Data Transmission Podcast, and he arrives with the timing bang on.

The French artist has just launched Mellow Records, the next step in the world he has been building around Mellow, his pop-concept party rooted in house music, connection and a little bit of wide-eyed dancefloor magic. The debut release, Ramyen’s ‘Our Story EP’, lands with two originals, a remix from Alonz, and a clear idea of where the label is heading.

His sound sits in that sweet spot between groove, emotion and late-night intent. Vocal house with warmth. Basslines with enough bite. Drums built for rooms that are already starting to sweat.

The mix gives a proper taste of that Mellow Records universe too. Ramyen moves through his own cuts, tracks from Jasa, Mamba Skar, Antoine Vermesse, Shayaan, Nozen, Bagheera and more, keeping things loose, sexy and firmly locked to the floor. There is plenty of French flavour in here, but it never feels closed off. This is house music with its windows open.

With summer dates ahead at Hï Ibiza, Amnesia and beyond, Ramyen feels like an artist putting the pieces in place at the right moment.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

Very hard choice. Right now, I’m obsessed with Alonz’s remix of Our Story, my latest release. It just hits differently every time I play it.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

The edit of The Korgis by my boys Antoine Vermesse and Shayan is the perfect track to ease into a set, sets the tone immediately.

Tell us about your next EP?

Two classic house tracks and one very modern, groovy tech house remix. The story behind the EP is really about that vocal — it speaks to those days when you first fell in love with house music, and the community we’ve all built around this musical universe.

What have you got coming up?

A great summer ahead, my party brand Mellow will have its own stages at some big festivals, and there’s beautiful music coming on the label. Exciting times.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
