DT813 – HoneyLuv

Named by Billboard as 1 of 10 Dance Artists to Watch in 2022, female house and techno producer/DJ HoneyLuv is one of the hottest DJs breaking through on an international level this year.

Whether it’s captivating live audiences with her futuristic, deep tech sound on festival stages like Coachella or EDC, her impeccable fashion sense effortlessly mixing clubwear with streetwear, or her hard-working drive and deep sense of humbleness through it all, HoneyLuv’s presence has grown at a remarkable pace since exploding on the scene in 2020.

Originally from Cleveland, Taylor’s drive and determination stems from an unexpected background as a potential NCAA basketball player and member of the US Navy. This year, HoneyLuv continues to dominate in the club and on the radio. Her hit single ‘365 (Thr33 6ix 5ive)’ on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records was named a BBC Hottest Record In The World and already notched over 5 million plays on Spotify since its release in April.

HoneyLuv has already checked off a number of bucket list shows in 2022 like HARD Summer, Outside Lands, and made her debut at Ushuaia in Ibiza alongside Calvin Harris. This fall, she is set to perform at Escape Halloween and Teksupport’s Halloween party at Superior Ingredients in NY, as well as join Fisher on tour in Australia this November.

Today, she joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

This podcast is Hot, Steamy, Groovy, Sensational, Sexy, Rhythmic, Deep, Street, Soulful and Vibey

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

My personal favourite song on this mix is the Who’s Gonna Luv me because it’s such a timeless house track and I am also a sucker for a groovy classic house song. Plus I am a huge fan of K London Posse.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

The special ingredient in this mix is the mix of classic and modern house. To be able to bridge those two together, really shows insight of who I am and how this music has shaped me into the DJ that I am today.

Tell us about your next EP?

My next single ‘Sway’ is definitely one of those tracks of me finally finding somewhat of a sound that best fits me. It’s a mix of modern groovy house with the touch of classic house, and deep rhythmic grooves. I’m also a huge fan of rap music, so I got Dope Earth Alien to spit some bars over it and it’s truly everything you think a HoneyLuv track would be.

What have you got coming up?

I have a few things coming up next in the world of Luv. I have my new single Sway dropping this year. I make my debut in London next month at the beams and I also make my debut in Mexico. I have a few collaborations coming early next year with some amazing artists such as Seth Troxler, Harry Romero, and Roalnd Clark.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

Stay Consistent with whatever you are doing in life that you enjoy. Anything is possible if you stay consistent because once you STOP everything Stops.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
