When Jochem Hamerling & BLR ‘Collision‘ dropped into our inbox, we knew it was destined for the big stage. Made for basements, rooftops, and full-throttle festivals, this cut delivers all the energy and groove you could ever want. And we’ve got it front and centre on this week’s Techno Podcast.
Jochem Hamerling has been quietly levelling up. You’ve heard him on SLAM! and Radio 538, but his studio work has been getting sharper with every release. From Watergate to Days Like Nights, the Dutchman knows how to build tension and drop bombs.
BLR, on the other hand, is already deep in the scene’s bloodstream. His collabs with Matt Sassari — like The Incident and Close Encounters — show a knack for locking into a groove and not letting go. He’s that producer who understands the fine line between house swing and techno pressure.
So what happens when they team up? You get ‘Collision‘. A driving, percussive roller with that late-night energy and just enough melodic flare to lift the roof. Think Marco V’s golden years reimagined for a new wave of ravers. It’s tough, it’s tight, and it bangs.
“Leon and I have been bouncing ideas for years,” Jochem says, “but this one finally stuck.” You can hear the chemistry. It’s big-room ready, but it still sweats like a 3am warehouse moment.
It’s the kind of tune that makes you miss being crammed into a booth with lasers in your eyes and bass in your chest. Don’t sleep on this one.
Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.
