NUDE136: Bjørnson

Stuttgart-based DJ and producer Bjørnson has been fostering his talent for raw and hypnotic techno for over a decade and is now fast becoming one of the stand-out names among a fresh surge of underground stars. With a growing discography of quality cuts to his name, as well as countless performances alongside electronic music’s elite, Bjørnson’s elevation to global recognition is imminent and well deserved.

Cutting his teeth drumming from as early as six years old, Bjørnson’s progression to electronic music was inevitable and subsequently led to a deep passion for techno and its uncompromising beats. Gravitating to the percussive dominance of its ‘big room’ sound, Bjørnson’s love for the underground genre developed through his teens, making a definite dwelling in his life after studying at Sinee Studios Cologne.

Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

It’s the end of the year so I put my favourite releases of 2022 in it.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

My favourite Track in this Set is the Track „Mothership“ by Mark Michael out on Kraftek.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

In this set, I try to take the listeners on a journey to my favourite tracks of 2022. And of course some of my own Tracks. It still feels strange to play my own tracks, so it’s always special when I play them.

Tell us about your next EP/Project?

I can’t announce anything yet. At the moment I’m planning my releases for 2023 and I will announce everything when it’s time.

What have you got coming up?

2022 was full of new experiences and I completely focused on my own productions. In 2023 I want to focus more on gigs again. I really neglected that in 2022.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

First of all I want to say thank you for having me. I want to close with some words of Nelson Mandela which helped me a lot since I made music to my main priority in life: “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.“

Create a vision! Follow that vision! You don’t need something to fall back on! Believe in yourself.

Love you all!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
