Yaya – Delirio Habanero

Tamango Records is the fresh newborn imprint from Berlin founded by Yaya.

The name is inspired on the story of Tamango, the first African slave who fought for his freedom, which perfectly represents the no-boundaries style of the label. ‘13k’ EP is the debut release by the boss himself with a three-tracker banging release. He inaugurates the label with entitled ‘13k’ which sees Yaya delivering a deep, tech and raw jam with a full-bodied kick mixed together with dry snares, thin hi-hats, rattling percussions and some anxious vocal chops. The whole retro-sounding dimension is yield by rumbling brass shots, sensual synths and mysterious textures.

On the flipside is our Debut Transmission, ‘Delirio Habanero’, which is more about frenzy things. It’s a direct and robust stripped back techno tool with an essential groove, SCI-FI atmospheres and an obsessive-delayed female vocal sample.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
