Todd Terje Shares ‘Delorean Dynamite’
We were very excited last week as everyone’s favorite Nordic techno veteran Todd Terje revealed that he is finally set to release his long awaited debut album on April 7th via his Olsen imprint .
After launching the label back in 2013 with the inaugural release of his ‘It’s The Arps’ EP – which introduced us to the fantastic viral character seen in the video for his hit ‘Inspector Norse’ – the label has be only fleetingly be utilized by Todd for irregular releases of his own material and his collaborative work with fellow Scand Lindstrom which paid homage to Spanish holiday destination ‘Lanzarote’ before continuing the holidaying theme with works such as this ‘Strandbar’, ‘Spiral’ and ‘Q’ being similarly sunshine laden affairs.
Titled It’s Album Time and with joyfully humorous artwork courtesy of illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn, Terje presents 12 of his works known and unknown, including the aforementioned ‘Norse’ and a chilled, haunting cover of Robert Palmer’s ‘Johnny And Mary’ featuring the instantly recognisable vocals of the one and only Mr. Bryan Ferry.
If anyone was in need of the message that dance music of all kinds can be witty, humorous, clever or found in strange places and – maybe most importantly – is able to fool and overcome itself, here it is. Now taken from debut LP It’s Album Time Todd has revealed his next single to be the fantastically named ‘Delorean Dynamite’.
