Swamp 81 to launch sub-label

81.jpgLoefah’s much-loved underground imprint Swamp 81 has announced the launch of a new sub-label, promising regular releases and club nights.

Simply called 81, the new label will be “committed to releasing the most up-front underground music, monthly, digitally and with a ltd vinyl run.” How’s that for a slice of fried gold? The 81 monthly release schedule is already filling up too; September gives us the Instructions EP from Mickey Pearce, Paleman’s Beezledub drops in October, and Chunky’s Oun-c and Zed Bias’ Chokehold have November and December due dates, respectively.

To compliment the releases, 81 will also hold bi-monthly club nights, beginning at Hackney’s Oslo Night Club on Wednesday 10th September.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
