Stream: The Smiths – This Charming Man – Skream’s Heart Wrenching Ballads Remix

In the relatively short time dubstep (now fashionably rebranded as ‘bass music’) has  been with us that have been few bigger names within its bass-centric scene than that of one of the pioneering genre originators  and Croydub  founder Skream.  But is the man so many credit with helping break dubstep into public consciousness leaving dubstep entirely? Many would think so with his sound definitely appearing to be undergo an evolution over the past 2 years that has seen it much more on the house and techno side of the electronic spectrum.

The latest from Skream is that following on from deciding to call time on his Disfigured Dubz imprint after half a decade of releases is an unconventional ballad led remix of The Smiths’ iconic This Charming Man. Again proving the versatility that has seen him win us over here at DT it’s an impressive reimagining of one of the UK’s favorite songs.  Whilst fairly different to the producers usual fare it seems to be one Oliver his happy with as he wrote “Did this yesterday…..This ones plagued with tags for the thieves…This isn’t a dance track nor really a electronic track….Just a piece of music I’m really happy with. Enjoy”.
