STEP presents their Second Compilation ‘STEPS 02’

STEP presents the second volume of its VA series: an Old School flavoured collection of Dance floor gems coming from Macaulay, Simon Garcia, Beef Records’ DJ Schwa and Japan’s talent Guchon.

Pets Recordings’ sub-label STEP is back with a bang. Following EPs from rising stars like Third Son, Nørus, DJ Steaw and Panthera Krause, the minds behind the imprint have carefully selected 4 cuts for the second chapter of their VA series.

Dj Schwa is running label Beef records, warehouse events Komiks and is part of Shades Of Gray. For years and years, he is stirring the wheels of Prague underground scene, both as DJ, producer and promoter of the Komiks events. You might also come across Schwa’s acid-infused EPs under his imprint “Beef Records” and other heavyweights such as Compost Black, Flight Recorder, Otake, Large and XLR8R.

Through his studio production work and parties, Schwa’s music has curated into a passionate and open-minded selection. His passion covers all aspects of electronic music ranging from house to electro, acid, electronica and all the way up to the heavy rave music. There are few boundaries. The music he serves up comes from a place of love and knowledge.

The EP features a series of international underground artists, all with different backgrounds. The result though is a complementary collection of club-oriented tracks all permeated by a pure Old School vibe. The EP opens up with Macaulay’s 4/4 relentless House train. Following is Simon Garcia, with a super deep and acid Electro cut. DJ Schwa delivers a real Acid House face melter and finally Japan’s own Guchon shines a bright light with his uplifting ‘Your Beach’.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
