Early reports from online news outlet Demotix have reported a man was the victim of a shooting yesterday outside of Birmingham event Circoloco In The Arena.  The event which featured the likes of Kerri Chandler and Jamie Jones had enlarged its capacity in recent weeks due to demand from would be clubbers in the city.

Today a series of photographs shows a police cordon around the Rainbow Venue on Adderley Street in the Digbeth area of Birmingham as witnesses report that a man was shot in the stomach following an earlier altercation that shaw the venues doors rushed but these reports remain unconfirmed and the current condition of the victim is unknown at this point.

The event itself ran until its natural completion leading some to speculate that the unfortunate incident was unconnected to the night.

A joint week long event, Circoloco In The Arena is a joint venture by Ibiza-based promoters Circoloco and Type Festival and was due to have day two of their scheduled events beginning today from 2pm which have now duly been cancelled as confirmed by Circoloco on twitter.

More updates to follow.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel today’s event. We’ll have more information on tickets & refunds this week.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
