SBTRKT launches interactive video to ‘Look Away’

sbtrkt.jpgFollowing the recent revealing of ‘Higher’ and ‘Voices In My Head’, SBTRKT continues the slow unveiling of his new album Wonder Where We Land with ‘Look Away’ featuring Caroline Polachek.

But wait, this is no ordinary stream! Given that the Internet is now more powerful than Rupert Murdoch, Voltron and Jesus combined, the London producer is harnessing the full power of the web for an interactive video. One of the most unsettling things we’ve watched all year, the clip displays a shadowy face, which when linked up with a webcam, follows the viewers gaze around the screen. Sure, it’s a tad buggy, and not quite on the same level as Rustie’s Minecraft-esque Green Language video game, but it certainly is unique. Experience ‘Look Away’ yourself here.

Wonder Where We Land is out October 7th via Young Turks.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
