Rustie Announces Sophomore LP, Shares Track

Ever since Rustie unleashed his debut album ‘Glass Swords’ on an unsuspecting public back in 2011 we’ve been eagerly awaiting his follow up LP. We were hopeful that the wait may have been nearing an end as the Scottish producer recently uploaded a cryptic 30 second clip on Youtube accompanied by green tinted footage of a flamingo which we speculated may have provided a first glimpse of the aforementioned sophomore album.

Well we can now confirm that Rustie’s sophomore LP is en route and will land later this summer on Warp. Titled ‘Green Language’ the 13 track release is being billed as showcasing a more “mature” side of Rustie’s sound palet whilst retaining a variety of influences, in particular “his early love of shoegaze, grime, trance, and Dirty South hip-hop.”

Said to be inspired by his the euphoria he felt during raves he attended as a teen, and the joy he gets from making music,” the  album features some big name guest appearances with Redinho, US rapper Danny Brown, grime kingpin D Double E and Gorgeous Children all slotted to appear on the August 25 release.

To celebrate the announcement Rustie has shared album cut ‘Raptor’ which you can check out below as a stream alongside ‘Green Language’s tracklisting.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
