Every music scene owes debts to its founding members and perhaps none more so than Drum & Bass to pioneering DJ and producer Roni Size. For a long time a marquee name in the music industry fresh material has been scarce from Roni in recent years with his last album arriving a decade ago way back in 2004. Thus you can imagine out excitement when Roni announced that the drought is coming to an end with the release of a new LP next month.

Titled Take Kontrol, the new album will arrive on Size’s recently inaugurated new imprint Mansion Sounds and will be available as a 16 cut CD and expanded 25 track digital release complete with DJ mix when it lands on August 25.

Preceded by a new EP entitled Size Matters we’re pleased to see Roni back in game and have high hopes for the album. A full tracklist is yet to be unveiled but album cut ‘Made In Korea’ can be streamed below courtesy of our friends at Mixmag.

Size is also giving away a free track ‘Bite The Bullet (2014 remix)’ to fans who sign up to his new website mailing list, the first stop for news on new releases, mixes, live dates and exclusive content. Fans can sign up via: https://www.facebook.com/ronisize/app_190322544333196

All this and the announcement of a new Reprazent album it looks like the the coming months are going to be big ones for Roni Size and Co!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
