Roland Reveal M-100 AIRA Headphones

Since launching its classic synth-reviving AIRA range last year, Roland has been gradually growing the brand with various Eurorack products. Now it seems the next step is to jump into the headphone market with the launch of the M-100 AIRA personal monitoring system.

A collaborative project with V-MODA, the M-100s are said to offer “audiophile-quality” sounds via dual diaphragm 50mm drivers that offer a whopping 5-30,000 Hz frequency range. (Yes our hearing is only 20-20kHz but a wider range offers truer sound reproduction – why fork out for all that tasty AIRA gear if you’re not getting the full effect, right?)

Aside from the high-end audio, the M-100s also feature a 2 meter, heavy duty professional cable, with locking mechanism, and an Extra SharePlay cable which allows two sets of headphones to share the same audio source. Plus there’s the usual sleek design and cushy memory foam ear-pads; no glowing green lights like the rest of the AIRA gear we’re afraid though, you’ll have to manage with green chevrons.

Roland haven’t announced a release date or price yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as they do. For more info and pictures check out the Roland website.
