In a year packed to the rafters with big name electronic  artists deciding that the summer of 2013 was the perfect time to release an album Robert Hood’s  confirmation that he was set to follow up on the successful release last year of  the excellent Motor: Nighttime World 3 album with a fresh LP last June may have been the one that got our more techno inclined staff the most excited.

Releasing under his Floorplan alias the album entitled ‘Paradise’ followed suit with his previous releases under the moniker and was distributed via his own M-Plant imprint. Thus with a big year already behind him we’ve been further excited by Robert’s announcement that ‘Paradise’ won’t be the last material we hear from him in 2013 with two new EP’s planned from the legendary Detroit producer and DJ over the next two months.

The first of the EPs to see release will be under  his Floorplan guise and will feature two new tracks under the moniker backed by remix of album track ‘Higher’ by Ben Sims whilst the second release sees Hood reverting to his own name for a two-track effort due in December.

We’ve always been fans of Robert’s hard edged minimal efforts that saw him become one of the biggest names in his native Detroit and beyond but are equally enjoying his more laid back work as Floorplan which we’re sure will be making its way onto many a playlist this winter.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
