As you may have guessed by our extensive coverage of all things Ram Records and Andy C the D&B contingent of DT are quite the fans of both.  With an attention to quality and remarkable ability to stay at the vanguard of Drum and Bass it’s fair to see when Ram speak we listen. Thus you can imagine our excitement when Ram announced that they would be releasing a new compilation for this years Miami Music week with the curation of ‘RAMiami 2014’ as showcased in this mini mix by fellow DT favourite Rene LaVice.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere at the end of 2011 with the now anthem-like Headlock, Rene LaVice was probably the least known yet most asked about name when Ram announced he was joining the label exclusively alongside the major signing of Calyx & Teebee to the Hornchurch fold. Fast-forward over a year and the Toronto native was there with the first full-length fruits of his labours on his debut album, Insidious. It may be surprising that an artist who has only really had a few releases on Ram in the past 12 months was deemed already at the stage for putting out an LP but it was an obvious sign that Andy C and Ram had faith in his talent and ability and he’s certainly brought some strong music to the table.

With 16 tracks from the likes of Andy C, Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Rene LaVice alongside 3 exclusive new cuts we think this may well be soundtracking this years jaunt to Miami when it lands on March 21st.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
