Philippe Cerboneschi (also known as “Zdar”), one half of French dance duo Cassius, accidentally died in Paris on Wednesday, his agent has said.

“He made an accidental fall, through the window of a high floor of a Parisian building,” said Sebastien Farran, without giving further details.

Cerboneschi formed Cassius with Hubert Blanc-Francard (aka Boombass) in 1996. The band’s first album in three years, Dreems, is due to be released on Friday.

From all us at Data Transmission to Philippe’s friends and family, we wish you our condolences on your loss.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
