Berlin techno luminary Paul Kalkbrenner who recently made headlines by signing to Columbia/Sony has announced that he has a new album prepped for release this summer. Titled ‘7’ the LP is Kalbrenner’s – you guessed it – full studio effort and samples some of the 20th century most famous musical names with Elvis, Janis Joplin, Luther Vandross and Bob Dylan all making an appearance after he was given access to the major labels vaults.
Unrestrained by the obvious legal impediments that would normally prevent such tracks coming to fruition, we can’t wait to hear the the inimitable German’s retrofitted works as he samples some of the pasts most illustrious musicians. Set to arrive August 7th, you can stream the albums lead single ‘Cloud Rider’ on Spotify now, and check out the album’s full tracklist below.
