Nicolas Jaar Starts New Imprint
In what initially seems like further bad news Chilean New Yorker Nicolas Jaar has announced that his label Clown & Sunset has been wound down but fans of the producer shouldn’t be too dismayed by the news as it precedes the launch of a new project which will see the enigmatic artist deliver content on a weekly basis from hereon out.
Entitled Other People, Jaar will be launching a new label with an inaugural compilation that will be hitting shelves on CD and vinyl this September. Compiled as a effort from various artists the opening release will be called Trust and retains core members of his Clown & Sunset imprint such as Acid Pauli, Nikita Quasim and of course Jaar himself. Also set to feature on the 13 track album will be two members of Nicolas’ live band in Will Epstein and Dave Harrington along with a plethora of fresh talent he hopes to introduce to a wider audience. Further details about the venture remain sketchy but Jaar has described the outlet as a “serial label” and has promised a prolific schedule of releases adding”Like a magazine, we deliver new content each week. Every Sunday, our members receive a new issue.”
