Mix Of The Day: Exclusive D-Nox Extrema Mix
It’s Friday and after a long week we can’t wait to go out and enjoy the weekend. So with that in mind we’ve got the perfect thing to get you in the mood to enjoy yourself with an exclusive mix from D-Nox ahead of a hotly anticipated performance at Belgium’s Extrema Festival. Probably best known as one half of uber talented production duo D-Nox & Beckers we didn’t need to be asked twice when offered the inimitable German’s services for the latest editon of our Mix Of The Day Series.
So with one eye on the summer and our ears locked into his new mix we fired Mr. Nox a few questions to see how he navigates the festival season. Check out his mix and answers below.
What are your top 5 festival must-haves?
– alimentation (vodka, beer & breakfast)
– earplugs for sleeping
What’s the most extreme thing you’ve done?
I don’t do extreme sports, so its a bit boring but I have been in a situation where my driver from a party to the airport was so drunk that he was throwing up while driving all over the windscreen (from the inside) and he was changing CDs while driving holding one foot out of the window and still being drunk as hell. After some time I had to take over and drive. I was sure that day I would lose my life. That was in Israel.

And a festival ’no, no’…
You should never lose your mates, sleep in or near the restrooms, stay awake for 3 days, take a shower with cold water, get searched by the police or sleep with your best friends girlfriend!
Your fondest memory of a festival is…
Watching DJ Three at Mindgames in Japan many years ago. I haven’t been taken that far by music and a DJ as it happened with DJ Three. Hours and hour and hours passed, with us banging on the floor as never before with our heads inside the speakers. Then we were dancing to chill out and crying for his last track. Undoubtedly being on this dance floor was the best thing I have ever experienced.
You can catch D-Nox alongside the likes of Solomun, Kolsch, Seth Troxler and Recondite at Extrema Outdoor 2014 in Belgium’s Keltchterhoef on June 6-7. For more information and tickets visit: xofestival.be/en/home
