2013 was for our money firmly the year of the album. With a host of big releases from the scenes biggest artists last summer now London based producer, DJ and fan favorite Maya Jane Coles threw her hat into the ring with the release of her debut full length feature which arrived at the end of last June.

One look at the very telling track list would tell you that the album had a heavy vocal input with a number of guest artists laying down their voices over her productions including former Hercules and Love Affair member Kim Ann Foxman, Bristolian trip hop stalwart Tricky, French electroclash princess Miss Kittin and Swedish singer/songwriter Karin Park.

Entitled Comfort the album was almost entirely produced by Coles outside of the guest vocals with Maya producing, engineering and mixing the effort in addition to singing on two of the tracks herself and designing the sleeve artwork.

Now following on from news Maya will be delivering the next edition of fabric’s esteemed eponymous compilation series  comes the unveiling of the official video to the title track of last years debut album ‘Comfort’ as directed by Jonas Lord and features the physical metamorphosis of a female protagonist. The video precedes the release of a deluxe version of the album which will be hitting shelves later this month via her own I/AM/ME imprint. Check it out below:

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
