More exciting album news this week as genre-hopping electronic music experimenter Martyn has announced that he will be releasing a new album in 2014 via esteemed London imprint Ninja Tune. Impossible to pin down the Dutchman has violently veered from hard edged techno to bass music via everything inbetween leaving it incredibly difficult to guess what he would release next or what would could expect to hear on the incoming album.

Entitled ‘The Air Between Worlds’ Martyns third album see him to return to the album format for the first time since 2011’s Ghost People on Brainfeeder and promises to take the Washington DC-based producer’s sound in “an entirely new sonic direction.”

As yet, no material from the release has emerged from the album but a quick glance at the tracklisting does show some interesting collaborations with Four Tet and former Hype Williams vocalist Inga Copeland scheduled to appear. Arriving on June 16th, the summer can’t come quite quick enough!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
